History of the Regional Water Supply System

The Montenegrin Coast Regional Water Supply System was established to address the longstanding need for a safe and sustainable water supply along the Montenegrin coast. The concept of establishing a unified regional system has been evolving for decades and was achieved through strategic vision, meticulous planning, and robust government support.

The initial definitive step occurred in 1975 , with the establishment of a company assigned the responsibility of developing and managing the infrastructure designated for the water supply of coastal municipalities. The construction of a modern system, utilizing the Bolje Sestre spring, established the conditions necessary for a reliable water supply, even during peak summer demand. The first water deliveries commenced in 2010, marking a new chapter in the development and daily life of the Montenegrin coast.

Today, the Regional Water Supply represents a symbol of responsible management of natural resources and is one of the key foundations for the stable growth of tourism and the economy. Through continuous investment and modernization, the system adapts to contemporary needs and challenges. The Regional Water Supply of the Montenegrin Coast remains committed to its mission: developing a reliable water supply system, improving living conditions, and supporting sustainable development for present and future generations.
